  报告人简介:University Researcher, Lammi Biological Station, Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences, University of Helsinki, Finland.

He is a researcher in ecology and environmental sciences whose work focuses on understanding how human activities and environmental change shape biodiversity, ecosystem functioning, and cross-ecosystem interactions. Based at the Lammi Biological Station, he studies both aquatic and terrestrial systems, with particular interest in how land use, agricultural pressures, and management practices influence ecological communities and ecosystem processes. His research combines field experiments, trait-based approaches, and large-scale ecological synthesis, integrating heterogeneous datasets to uncover general patterns across ecosystems.

He obtained his PhD in Ecology in 2021 from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), Brazil, where his thesis— “The role of functional similarity for community assembly at multiple spatial scales”—examined how functional traits mediate the relationship between environmental variation and species abundances across spatial scales. After completing his PhD, he joined the University of Helsinki as a postdoctoral researcher and later became a University Researcher at the Lammi Biological Station. His work has been published in leading international journals, including Global Ecology and Biogeography, Journal of Ecology, Functional Ecology, Freshwater Biology, and Science of the Total Environment. Despite completing his PhD only in 2021, his research has already achieved 548 citations, an h-index of 10, and an i10-index of 11, with two papers exceeding 100 citations (Google Scholar, 2025). He is particularly recognized for his ability to synthesize complex ecological data to reveal general patterns across ecosystems, contributing to the development of integrative and predictive ecological frameworks.
