The School possesses a Doctoral Degree Granting Program in Geography (Level I), Master's Degree Granting Programs in Structural Engineering and Rock Mechanics (Level II), and a Jointly Established Doctoral Degree Granting Program in Fisheries Economics Management. It also holds Master's Degree Granting Programs (Academic) in Civil Engineering and Geography (Level I), and Master's Degree Granting Categories (Professional) in Civil Engineering & Infrastructure, Geography Education, Resource & Environment, and Rural Development.

Currently, the School offers three undergraduate programs: Civil Engineering, Geography (Teacher Education), and Environmental Engineering. There are currently 680 full-time undergraduate students enrolled (excluding first-year students in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering). Civil Engineering is a National First-Class Undergraduate Major Construction Point, Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Major, Provincial Key Major, Municipal Key Major, Municipal Brand Major, University Key Major, and University First-Class Undergraduate Major. It was included in the Zhejiang Provincial "13th Five-Year Plan" Advantage Major Construction Project and passed the national professional assessment by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development in 2013 and the professional accreditation by the Engineering Education Accreditation Commission (EACC) in 2020. Geography (Teacher Education) is a National First-Class Undergraduate Major Construction Point and part of the Zhejiang Provincial "14th Five-Year Plan" Teacher Education Innovation Zone. Environmental Engineering is a Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Major Construction Point and a University Key Major.

Civil Engineering

  • Training Objective: This program aims to cultivate well-rounded professionals (in terms of ideology, morality, physique, aesthetics, and labor skills) with a good humanistic sentiment, scientific literacy, sense of social responsibility, and professional ethics. Students will master solid foundational theories and professional knowledge in civil engineering, possess strong engineering practice capabilities, the ability for continuous self-improvement, innovative awareness, and the concept of green and low-carbon development. They should have a certain international perspective. Graduates are expected to possess the basic competence and skills of a professional engineer within 5 years of graduation, capable of undertaking technical and managerial positions in fields : building surveying, designing, constructing, inspecting, supervising, consulting, and evaluating.

  • Main Courses: Mechanics of Materials, Strength of Materials, Reinforced Concrete Design, Structural Dynamics, Steel Structure Design, Construction Technology, Construction Organization, Building Materials, Building Drawing, Building Measurement, Surveying, Building Physics, Construction Project Management, Construction Contract Management, Construction Site Management, Construction Safety, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and others.

  • Duration: Four years.

  • Degree Conferred: Bachelor of Engineering.

  • Major Features: This program is part of the National "Double First-Class" Plan and is a Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Major Construction Point in Zhejiang. It focuses on cultivating talent for areas like pollution control, ecological security, and water quality assurance. It currently offers Master's degree programs in Municipal Engineering (Level II) and Resource & Environment (Professional). The major's star rating and ranking are stable and improving. The program has 25 full-time faculty members, including one Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). Among them is one "Special Government Allowance Expert" from the State Council, one "National Hundred-Thousands-Ten Thousand Talents Project"National Level, one "National Outstanding Middle-Aged and Young Experts" (State Council Level), and one "Chinese Academy of Sciences Hundred Talents Program" Type A candidate. There are nine professors and six associate professors. Nine faculty members have undertaken visiting scholar programs abroad or overseas, establishing research collaborations and exchange channels with multiple renowned universities and research institutes internationally. We have implemented a mentorship system where every student, from the moment of entry, is paired with a mentor chosen through mutual selection for comprehensive guidance covering studies, life, ideology, and career planning.
